Ireland has chosen its Eurovision Entry and its Jedward singin
didn't they already took part last year? In Latvia musicians doesn't take part in contest if they already went to Eurovision.

Can you post their song they will be singing this year? :)

That's very strange. So the winner won because someone in the Jury chose them?
Cause somebody told jury to give low rates. If that wouldn't happen they would win. They were third but just cause jury gave them so less points, they were only 3rd.

Yes, they went last year, but they're going again because there was a public vote and of course all their fans voted for them. The problem with public votes here is that acts like Jedward end up winning even if their song/performance is not good. I feel bad for those who didn't win and had better songs, they just had no chance.

We didn't have big stars in our National contest this year. But then again I don't know if we have so strong leaders in Latvian music. Those we have, doesn't take part in contest.

Some of the choices we had weren't big stars either, so I felt sorry for them that they were up against Jedward, with the fans they have no one else could win, which is a shame, because one or two of the other songs we had were better ones than the Jedward one, athough it also was one of the few really good songs.

Ireland has send some artists more then once to Eurovision in the 80s we sent Johnny Logan who won many times.

This is the Irish Entry this year. Jedward has a large following among teenagers so I am not surprised that they got through. Can you imagine 1000's of fans texting in? So they were a clear winner I also liked another song.

I prefer this song tho

This is another one its traditional irish music not pop

This guy reminds me of Bono :lol

I really liked Here I Am, I was hoping it would win, until Jedward came on and I knew it had no chance of winning :whistling

I like the music of the the one you said is traditional Irish music but I don't really like her voice. But her performance with fire was interesting. It doesn't seem fair cause fire was banned on our stage. One of the singer needed to change whole performance cause they had fire in their performance. I think all contestants need to have the same rules.

I didn't like Jedward cause they looked exactly the same and their performance also was no different. Some of their moves are annoying as well :giggle

I also like Here I Am. I guess I like more male voices that female.

The panel didn't like the traditional song because in the past we entered traditional acts in Eurovision and they didn't do well :(. I remember that one of them was totally sung in Irish language. But no one could understand it :lol.

I've been watching some of our Eurovision songs now and bumped into song with what we won. And when I watched it I saw so much Michael in the performance. I mean, look by yourself

in Britain they have chosen Engelbert Humperdinck to sing in the Eurovision he is 75 years old and he was very famous back in the day my mum remembers him.

BBC hit by a Humper ding-dong as it's swamped with complaints over UK’s Eurovision entry

The BBC has been swamped with complaints after picking Engelbert Humperdinck to sing Britain’s entry at the Eurovision Song Contest.
The crooner, whose hits include Release Me and The Last Waltz, will be 76 by the time he takes to the stage in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 26 to perform an as yet unnamed song.

Many viewers made their complaints on the BBC’s website. Joseph Leather called the move ‘absolutely shocking’.

He added: ‘With the Olympics and Diamond Jubilee this year, it’s the perfect occasion to show the UK as a young hip place to be, not stuck in the past which you have clearly done.’

Another, called magnificentpolarbear, wrote: ‘What sort of message does this send to the world?

'That in 2012 there are no up and coming performers that can represent the UK?

‘Or maybe the strategy is to win by gathering the middle-aged women vote from all across Europe.’

A BBC spokesman said the choice of Humperdinck ‘has been the subject of much heated debate’, but added: ‘We are delighted by the overwhelming and largely positive response.’

Even though the UK is one of the most successful countries to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest and has won the contest a total of five times, it has suffered dire scores in the past few years.

Since 1999, the year in which the rule was abandoned that songs must be performed in one of the official languages of the country participating, the UK has suffered - only finishing within the top ten twice.

Jessica Garlick in 2002 and Jade Ewen in 2009 have been the only two entrants to succeed in earning a top five spot since 1998.

Miss Ewen was praised for ending the run of poor Eurovision results after her performance of It’s My Time’ and went on to join girl group the Sugababes.
or the 2011 contest, the BBC chose boy band Blue to perform for the United Kingdom. They finished in 11th place with 100 points.

Writing on the BBC site, another viewer added: ‘The BBC is one of the world’s biggest and best broadcasters in a country famed for its musical talent...

‘We have to take this outdated ‘we’re better than Europe so let’s not even try to compete and just send something ironic draped in a Union Jack’ approach and then when inevitably no-one votes for us we cry foul.

‘Blue and Jade were honourable exceptions, but that’s just a small fraction of what could be achieved with just a bit of effort and budget.’

Speaking about his bid to win the Eurovision Song Contest - a feat which Britain has not achieved in 14 years - Mr Humperdinck said: ‘It’s an absolute honour to be representing my country for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

‘When the BBC approached me, it just felt right for me to be a part of an institution like Eurovision. I’m excited and raring to go and want the nation to get behind me!’

Latvian performance was boring. The song may be ok for Eurovision but performance was awful. I don't understand what directors, producers and choreographers thought about. Cause as I understand this year we had special team for Eurovision. They all should end their carriers.

The Russian entry is awful too but cause of the song and the grannies. I don't understand any word they sing except "Come on every body dance. Party for everybody" or something similar. I didn't even understand what language they sang. Some of them even seemed to confuse either melody or the lyrics. It was awful. Also Albania (I think) with that screaming girl was bad for my liking. I thought I would lose my hearing. I bet her screaming broke some glass in the hall. The first one (don't remember the country) who sang was bad too, he had very stupid song.

I liked the water thing in Jedward performance, that was something new and different. I liked how they end their performance in water. That's what I thought they should do when the song was in the middle and they did it in the end.

If Russia will win the ppl voting are really, really stupid. If you do some fun act then you should do it perfect. Not throw some grannies who doesn't even know the lyrics apparently.
