We have 2 concerts on TV in last 2 weeks to made up list for Latvian final. Here's something I can point out lol

This is one of my fav Latvian songs:

Soooo funny :lmao I want it to win and go to Baku lol I haven't seem their performance but I've seen pics that solist looks like Merilin Menson with all the make up. There's also somebody that looks like Pet Shop Boys from their video Go West. I will post their performance as soon as they will add it in the net.

One more one of my fav songs:

It's a beautiful song with a beautiful meaning

This is one of my LEAST fav song from national contest :blink :crazy

Wow Latvia are early choosing there songs. I like the second one very romantic :). In Ireland we haven't had a competition for ours yet. They often have about 5 to choose from and whoever gets the most votes gets put through to the Eurovision. There are rumours that the same act that was in last year will be going again this year. Its not confirmed yet tho.

We always have our in the beginning of the year.

Here is the video I promised. They performed it yesterday. Take notice in the end a guy as Lordi is coming out of piano like ballerina from Dima Bilan's performance :lmao As I've read the 2 or 3 guys in the group is current or ex opera singers.

The singer had cold so I guess that's why he couldn't sing the song properly. But in he said it will be ok in the last concert that we will have next weekend. Then we will know the winners.

We have professional jury and audience to vote as well. Their votes are counted together. Audience can vote by phone but they can also send sms which would give 5 (I think) points and it's more expensive than a call.

We have a professional Jury too but the audience is made of people who wrote the songs that are performed and other music people. The audience dont vote. Juat members of the public around the country and they call into the various regions to get the votes. I think theres about 4 or 5 acts to vote for.

No its not random people :lol. There are two parts to the judging process. The first part is the Jury vote. There are 6 jurys located around Ireland on the night of the vote. In the following cities across Ireland Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Sligo and Dublin.

The spokesperson for each jury is called by video. They give the points for each song. Minimum number for a song is 4 then 6, 10 and 12. The maximum points that a song can get is 72 points. The songs that the public vote for also goes to the jurys.

So they don't watch the show live? Our professional jury is there during the concert.

Oh they do watch the show as it goes out on TV but they also have to gather all the sms and phone votes from there cities. When they have all the votes collected then the spokesperson gives the result from that city.

This is the Latvia's entry for Eurovision song festival in May. Do you like the song?

The singer singing the song is a bit weird looking. Especially her eyes. The eyes looks so big as they're gonna pop up lol She became famous maybe 6 years ago in some music reality show. But she didn't make big singing carreer in Latvia. She went to USA (I think). I don't really know what she did that, but as far as I know she probably was learning singing. With this song she is returning to Latvia.

dancing, I think is ok and the hat is not worse that hat of the Queen anyway :lol

I don't know, I still like Mad Show Boys better :D They got the third place. I wrote them in Twitter that I liked them and it's too bad they didn't win. They got less points from professional jury which is why they were only the third after professional jusry votes and public votes. Profesional jury placed them in 8th or 7th place but public votes took them to 3rd place. So I told them that public voted for them and that is very important. They retweeted my tweet :D

The group I liked Mad Show Boys probably will sue either contest organizers or somebody who spread rumors about them and affected their place in the contest. When they talked with two professional jury members they revealed that somebody in jury room spread information that if Mad Show Boys win, Latvia would face charges in plagiarism so jury were told to give low points to the group. In open letter the group asked organizers to reveal the person who spread rumors about them in jury room as it may be also connected with any of other contestants.

And the jury ratings really were weird. Cause they were one of favorites between contestants. Not only most of the public liked them but also bookmakers predicted their winning or some other group's. But suddenly 9 jury out of 10 gave the group from 1 to 3 points, not more. So on jury ratings they were only on 7th place. But on public telephone voting they were first which got the boys in 3rd place but it wasn't enough to win.

The song author said he is very shocked that jury can be so influenced about something that somebody has said which even wasn't checked if it's true. He said that he wrote the song entairly. There were some snippet used from ex Eurovision winner Rybak but in the same time he changed as much notes in the snippet so it would be good with laws. He also followed every rule of the contest and he didn't break any of them. He put time and a lot of money in the song and the performance.

I think that jury votes was really weird. Cause suddenly the group from everybody's favorites became unwanted. It would be ok if few wouldn't like their performance or song but not all. There were only one jury member, popular Latvian athlete who wasn't anything related with show business and more represented common ppl in jury, and he was the one giving MSB all 12 points. Besides, there were jury members who were connected with contestants and it is not right to rank somebody that works for you or that your worker represents. I already wrote them in Facebook profile that I think jury votes let down the group cause they would win. So I believe if somebody wouldn't spread rumors about them, they would win.

That's very strange. So the winner won because someone in the Jury chose them?
