When did Dimitris from bf turned into fiance? Did he proposed her? When did he do that? When will be the wedding? :XmasDance:

I don't know what I will do this year. I am not in the mood of celebrating with lots of ppl. I would like to stay homewith my bf. Maybe ask some friend to come over and watch some movie together :) But if my bf will want to go somewhere with friends I guess I will go with it cause I don't think I will want to stay alone.

So we decided to stay home - me, bf and cat. Maybe we will go out to watch fireworks at midnight. I don't know. But my friend with her brother will come to us after midnight to watch some movie.

I will watch 'This Is It' its been shown on one of the TV Channels tomorrow night. I will toast a glass of wine to Michael. My mum will watch the movie with me. Then at midnight I will send and get texts from friends wishing me a new year. In Ireland the network breaks because too many people are sending New Year wishes :lol

in Greece, it's tradition that you get engaged before you get married

most couples do that

in the engagement you usually invite just the close family members, but you can also invite friends and other relatives, if you want

it's tradition that in the engagement the girl and the guy wear each other a round ring, which rings are usually identical to each other

inside the ring of the girl is written the name of the guy, and inside the ring of the guy is written the name of the girl

these are also the rings that they will use for the wedding

but in the engagement they place the rings on the left hand, while in the wedding they are placed on the right hand

also the guy needs to give the girl one more ring, with a diamont, which is the proposal ring

and it's tradition that the family of the girl must give to the guy a watch

In Ireland there is also an engagement before marriage and the guy gives the girl a ring and goes down on one knee to propose. But the girl does not give the man a ring until the wedding day when both exchange rings :)

Anyway 2012 is nearly upon us. Australia has already brought the year in with fireworks they had 7 tonnes of explosives :o .

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE :) :bcelebrate

I'm staying at home, I don't usually go out. There's not many places to go here that's not too crowded or noisy. I prefer a quiet night.

yes, in Greece everybody buys a ring with diamond for the girl in engagement, it's very common here (almost a law :p - made by the girls/women :innocent)

but not all the rings with diamonds are equally expensive

there are many different qualities and prices

but they are usually more expensive than one wedding ring (and more cheap than two wedding rings)

I also don't like going out on New Year's Eve

all the places are crowded and noisy, they have very expensive prices, and bad quality of food on that day
