Last week Queen Elizabeth II visited Ireland for 4 days. In the beginning many people didnt like her coming because of the past but by the end of her trip many people began to like her and she seemed to enjoy her visit.

Here are some pics:

It is the first time a British monarch has ever visited the Republic.

The Queen delivers a speech at Dublin Castle, watched by Taoiseach Enda Kenny (seated left) and Irish President Mary McAleese (right), during a state dinner on the second day of her state visit to Ireland. She told guests from the northern and southern Irish communities: "It is a sad and regrettable reality that through history our islands have experienced more than their fair share of heartache, turbulence and loss ... with the benefit of historical hindsight we can all see things which we wish had been done differently, or not at all."

I've heard about it and I was wondering why you didn't post these news earlier :D

I've read it's the first visit in 100 years, right? I was just wondering why it took so long for them? lol Which year Ireland became free?

Respect to her actually for visiting those memorial places. That is something what some other persons should do as well when they come to Latvia :rolleyes

p.s. her costumes :huh not sure if my comment is positive or negative though lol it looks amazing how everything is matches (dress, coat, hat) but it looks too... creamy, puffy... like a cake lol

I was going to post about it last week but with exams I was juar too busy. Its 100 years since a Monarch visited Ireland that was King George V. Ireland became free in 1922.

Many people thought it was very good of her visiting those places especially one called The Garden of Rememberence that marked the Irish who died fighting for freedom. She put a wreath there and also bowed her head in respect.

When she was in Dublin she didnt meet many of the public due to security but when she went to Cork city she met some there.

Many people said her clothes were nice especially when she wore green the said that is showed that was a sign that she was showing respect for Ireland. Her clothes seemed to match although sometimes the didnt wear a hat like when she did a speech and also when she went to a concert that was put on for her by the British Ambassador. Here is more photos and videos as well

Yes it does give some hope in the world. If hate can be forgotten in favour of peace then that is a very good thing and it shows that peace between nations can happen.

Its strange that you never heard the Queen speak. I have often heard her but when she spoke in Dublin I think it had more meaning.

I dont either but one of my great aunties was brtitish and she followed things to do with the family. Often I would visit and there she would be watching something about the queen.
