On Saturday myself and my mum went to the local animal shelter on Saturday. We were there to get a new cat as the one we had disappeared over the winter time and ever came back. We dont know what happened with the cat. When we went into the shelter there was a cat running about and my mum got friendly with it. There was a signt saying cats and puppies up stairs. So I went there and I seen two cages with cats. Some were black, ginger and some were grey tabby cats. But one in particular caught my eye. It was black and white and was sitting on its own. I asked the woman who runs the shelter about the cat. She said that a girl owned him and that she wasn't allowed to keep pets in her apartment. The was is 6 months old but has not been neutered. So I decided to take this cat as it seemed really friendly although slightly timid at first. I gave the shelter a donation as they ask for one and also they gave me a money off voucher bring to the vet to get the cat neutered I have up to 6 months to get this done. I will also get the vet to give the cat a check over just to be sure the cat is healthy.

When we were leaving with the cat the one we met at the gate was walking with us to my car and I thought maybe this cat was saying goodbye to the one we got.

aawww, so cute :luv I've read that animals are more grateful and lovable taken from shelters or found on streets cause they know what it is to not have a home :( Our cat is just perfect and never do any bad thing :D I howp your cat will he just as perfect as well :sunflower

Btw, what's his name?

And do you always refer to an animal as "it"? I've noticed Nik also does the same. I never understood that cause "it" is being refer about things, but animal is living being. We always tell "she" or "he" when we talk about animal or anything else alive.

At first the cat was very timid and quiet. But since then this cat is very loveable anytime I pick him up he loves to get cuddled not like any other cats I had in the past. He is ok although he got up on the kitchen table because there was food on it. Now I take the food away and tell him to get off the table when I catch him on it.. He used the litter tray straight away as well I didnt know if he knew how to use it.

Yes I did say it a lot but that when when the cat was new but I love him now and called him Trixie.

On Saturday I bought the following things for Trixie

bowl
litter tray
toy
Food
collar
cat litter

Then on Sunday I got him a bed and a play thing with a scratching post on it. I want to get one of those houses i seen in a shop on Saturday but I didnt have enough money :(

this is what i was looking for

We allow cat on the table but we don't leave there our food. If he see we eat fish or something and we don't allow him to yeat it, he understands it soon and he gives up and goes away :)

We have a huge tree house, right up to the ceiling :D And there is also a sleeping place for the cat above the waredrobe. I bought a book recently about cats. It says the cats loves all kind of tunes and hidden places and they need places where ppl will not disturb him. We ahve few places for the cat like that. We understand this apartment is not just where we live, it's almost the whole world for the cat so we make it as pleasant for him as possible and he gives us back love and his smartness of not doing any stupid things :D

Miks would have to be over 6 months old to get this procedure done. Although it turns out that Trixie is 5 months and the vet still did the surgery. I double checked with her and she was that it was ok to get it done earlier. Its expensive here its 80 euros but because I had the discount it was 54 euros.

Then the vet told me about food that I should get for the cat. She told me about dry food called Vet Essentials its only sold in vet surgerys. Then she gave me two free samples and said this is good its 14 euros :o but it lasts long and the cat will have a complete turn around. Then she said don't give the cat milk you should feed water because the milk isnt good unless they drink the special milk for cats and the vet said thats too expensive anyway. :huh

Since I brought Trixie home he is really tired I gave the food that I was told to give him at 8pm he did get sick like the vet said. He was on my knee and i could see the smile come back to his face and he was trying to play with his toys.

Miks is 10 months old :D He will have birthday in the end of May.

We don't give him those cheap cat food from mall. We buy professional ones from zoo shop.

And yes, cat shouldn't drink milk.. If you want then it's better to give a cat kefir but not milk. Cat also shouldn't eat fish. It's ppl who think cats eat those but in fact he shouldn't. I've read about that and bet also said it.

Wait, isn't your cat female? You call him "he" :confused

Yes I know cheap cat food is not the best for cats and I was buying what I thought was very good as it was improving his weight and his fur has a lovely shine to it. I was giving him soft meaty food for kittend only and he likes it very much. At the moment he is still getting his teeth and wont eat all of his food. But I am glad of the vets advice and yours as well.

I will feed him this new food that I got yesterday and I was told to give it gradually with the food he is currently eating. Then I will see if he likes it and if its good for him.

Yes my cat is a male :yes. I thought I said that before but maybe I didnt :lol
