I was so disappointed last night. I bought The Muppet Christmas Carol on DVD a couple of weeks ago in HMV and watched it last night only to find that it wasn't the full film, it was an edited version. Looking it up, I found out the American DVD has the full film, so now I have to get that next month. At least it's on TV this week, so hopefully they'll show the full version.

With The Muppet Christmas Carol, they cut out a song sung by Scrooge's fiancee, she sings that their relationship is over. There's a slightly different version at the end credits of it. On the DVD version, they cut out the song, and there's only a short conversation, which doesn't make any sense. On the American version it's 1hr 29mins long, and the one I have is 1hr 22mins long. I don't know why they cut out that scene, I always thought it was a very touching scene. After doing a short search, I found a list of different versions. The version with the song is the home-video edit while the version without the song seems to be the theatrical release (cinema version). I never knew that, I'd only ever seen the one with the song.

I dont know why they would have cut out that bit as its a very touching part of the film. I see many comments complaining about that. Things are so PC these days this film was made in 1991 and I guess sadly so many things have changed since then. I think this film is amazing in the way its made with puppets I did see a programme on the making of the Muppets films.

Well, from what I found online, the version shown at cinemas didn't have the song, and it was released in full on video and then some limited DVD releases later on. Maybe they weren't sure whether the audience would like it or not. I don't know if it was PC or not, it might not be. What I don't like is what Disney have done to the Muppets. They used to have jokes and moments for all ages, but the last few films under Disney have been just aimed at kids, with bad jokes and music. The last good film they made was Muppets from Space. There's another film being made, supposedly going back to the old style, hopefully it might be.

The Muppets weren't owned by Disney when they made Christmas Carol & Treasure Island, it was mostly the same crew from Muppet Show. Disney only bought the muppets a few years ago.

Today I watched Jack Frost. Its about this boy whos father died in a car crash and he comes back a year later as a snowman. I had seen it before but I was emotional when I watched it this time as I was thinking of my dad.

It's really hard to say cause they are so different. There were some things I didn't like in all movies. Less things in Jack Frost. Maybe Jack Frost and Muppet's Xmas Carol :)
