I've heard ppl not being happy about it saying it's not meant for Europe making the screen to be smaller than it should be. And that the sound is also not that good in a quality matter.

Can you say anything about it? Have you noticed any of this?

The set I got is Region 0 (can be played in all players) with NTSC playback. The intros and menus are widescreen, but most of the films are not, they are all in the original format they were filmed in. I don't have much to complain about. They made it R0 instead of converting it, sometimes when American companies convert for European system it can be badly done. One set I have the voices are slower and deeper than they should be because of the bad conversion that was done. I'm not really a sound expert, but the sound on the Vision set is okay, it's close to the original sound. I think maybe restoring these to perfect picture and sound would probably be very expensive, so they restored it as best they could. Overall, I'm happy with it.

It was a DVD of a TV series, it was done badly. Thankfully I haven't seen any bad conversions for the Michael DVDs that I have.

I've watched it too. And I can just say the same. Most videos are not widescreen and in the old 4:3 format. But that's what can be expected. No complains from here. It's not special for Europe.

When I bought American videos before, it always said on the box that the video was formatted for their TVs. It might be the same for the Vision DVDs, that they were only formatted for American TVs in widescreen, so they wouldn't look like that on our TVs. I don't think there's a difference in the region versions, as I bought a Region 0 one which has FBI warnings in it (at the end of playing 1 disc), so all the DVDs must be R0. It doesn't seem to matter which one you buy, because if the DVDs are only widescreen on American TVs, then they wouldn't work on our TVs.

Yes. I've seen that too. But it's usually cutting widescreen down to the old 4:3 format. Not the other way around.

I noticed the error in the screen size but I just changed it and then the video looked much better. Dont know why they didnt upgrade the videos for Europe. Anyway I love the cover of the Vision Boxset where the images move its really cool. There is a huge booklet that came with it and I noticed some rare pics in it.

Which error?

I don't think they made anything special for Europe. This DVD should be the same everywhere.

Mine are exactly as it should be. With black bars in the sides in most videos.

The error is that the picture is small for the screen size that I have. Although I adjusted the settings and the picture was much better then.

It's supposed to be small. At least with bars on the sides, if you watch on a widescreen TV.
But sure. Some people like to stretch the pic :)
