I have not been on here in a while, and I know that someone may have already had a topic similar to this, but If not I was wandering what everyone thought of Lady Gaga at the VMA'S? I know my personal thoughts, but uhh, well I would like to hear yalls. and I can not believe she beat so many people at the awards. But what do all of yall think?

I don't know about VMA cause I don't watch it. I found it boring. I started to watch but I don't understand all that notice that was going on stage so I turned it off and went to sleep (it was already around 3-4am). But I don't like LadyGaga. I think she gained popularity just for being crazy, dressing crazy, not with her songs.

I like her. I like that she is extreme and doing all this stuff to be famous. It's working for her.

I like her music but her outfits are so over the top. I didn't like the dress that she wore it was made from meat. This is a pic of the dress

This does in fact make her an artist
You need more than music to become a great artist.
You need to create publicity and attention about yourself.
This is what she is best at.
Without this maybe her music wouldn't be at the top.

It doesn't mean that I don't think wearing meat is disgusting. But look how much publicity it has created around her.. Negative or positive doesn't really matter. It's lots of free advertising. Cover pages, articles, headlines etc..

Gaga does many things to get noticed and stand out from the crowd. I agree with Nik this is what she is best at. I didnt like what she did at the VMAs last year she simulated a suicide scene and then she wore a dress with fake blood on it.

I though singer should be about good music, not disgusting actions

It's better not to be famous rather than getting famous by actions like these at least my soul would be pure.

Why she can't sit down and try to write good and serious music? Wait, right, cause she doesn't have a talent... Only not talented ppl drag attention by acting like crazy cause that's the only thing they can make money. How low

well, artists must be people who provide art, and good, positive messages

people who turn their selves into "clowns" just in order to make publicity and money are indifferent to me

I think that they are insult for music

and remember: Michael did some weird things sometimes (maybe), but he was always giving positive messages

he was a great man, and a huge humanitarian

he has been writing excellent music, he didn't act like a monkey who came from the zoo, he wasn't wearing meat, he didn't advertise suicide and violence

and he was number 1 in music

this is the type of artists we need

ok, not everyone can be Michael... but at least they can try to develop, in a positive way...

Zoi wrote it perfect about giving a good example and positive emotions. Idols are always an example for their fans. What will happen now? Now all those girls will start to wear meat just cause their idol did that and this it's fashionable? Popularity comes together with responsibility.

There is something you don't understand at all

Lady Gaga is the biggest star at the moment.
She is indeed very talented.
She is a great song writer too. She is not only writing songs for herself.
You need lots of talent to succeed in something like this.

I don't see what she does wrong.
She plays her role to perfection.

Michael was more than music too. So don't come and say music is just music.

Zoi.. Think of your rock idol.. He made worse things on stage. suicide and other stuff. That's worse than this.
