the songs that I liked best tonight were the songs of Denmark and Cyprus :)

I am glad they made it to the final :)

it's a pity that Ireland was voted out :) it also had a nice song :)

on the other hand, I didn't like the song of Turkey :no

yes, of course it does :)

actually almost all greeks use that word :)

it's an exclamation word which we use when we dance, when we celebrate, and when we're having a good time :)

well, it's a word which we use in many occasion, to express joy :D

I was really surprised that we sent a greek song to eurovision :) a really greek song :) both the music and the lyrics are very greek :)
ok, then it's kind of Yeah and Baby type of word, which I think doesn't mean anything in songs, only when written doesn't have anything to tell. I mean the meaning that it doesn't have a translation. Like Yeah is for Yes but what does it mean if you say Yes all the time in the song? lol Like Usher had that song titled Yeah :lol

France has terrible song, I've heard it today :o And I forgot who but in today's show there were a song with Ooooooooo as a chorus, so terrible :lol

I liked Turkey's song :) Although I haven't heard them all. I turned it on just cause Nik said it's on lol So I can't say about all songs. I've heard some of those songs were still tutsi tutsi style that you could call tehno and is played in clubs. I don't like those songs either.

Our Latvians host said this show was stronger than first one.

I liked it. One of the best I've heard. It was different and you actually could hear instruments like drums and guitars rather than synthesizers making tutsi tutsi sounds lol I like real music with real intruments. That's what I like about Michael, he was real :)

If you listen to that music it's not the same, it changes and there are many sounds in there which music interesting. Many other songs had all the same in music which gets boring after a while.

If it's fast song, it needs to have drums and guitar :giddy lol

Denmark was ok (just heard on YouTube) but there's something that I don't like in chorus. It's Eurovision style thing.

Latvian song was ok as well but bridge of the song destroyed the song. First it was so soon, second it destroyed the flow of the song and that part was boring. Second Aisha can sing live high notes but she loses is when she sings low notes. I wonder why cause she didn't have this problem before. Maybe she was nervous. Besides she had also performance in Latvian contest, now she was just singing, not interesting. Second, her outfit was wrong, it more looked like robe and I thought she will take it off during performance and she would have a nice outfit under lol

France sings Ole Ole Ole lol and Barambarambaramba....... lol and that's all what chorus is made of. Very meaningful lol

I don't know, I like more smart and serious songs than titles and choruses that doesn't mean anything :dontknow

Ireland did go through to the final in fact its been 4 years since we got this far :yeah. So everyone is celebrating over here. I also liked the Danish and Cyprus entry. Plus the guy with the guitar I think he was from Belgium not too sure but he was cute too :). I also liked the Israel entry he was cute as well. Thought Lithuania was funny when the guys took there trousers off :lol. I also thought the interval act was great with all that dancing :). I liked Turkey also that was fresh young and new it was really cool.

Cute guys.. lol. You see we don't just judge the songs :)

I do like when music is made on computers. For me it doesn't matter. It's not that the music will be worse from computers. And don't tell me, that Michael never used that :)

Michael had interesting music with different sounds in it, with changes in the music/ melody etc... He never made the tutsi tutsi style.

here is a translation of the lyrics of the greek song:

Opa!
Opa, Opa!
I burnt the past, my old nights,
memories also became shivers
Memories and voices unjust wishes
and left open wounds in a corner
I burnt the past, my old nights,
dreams and nightmares I threw in a flames
Hot tears, too many lies
seem like a silent movie that Im not watching anymore
Opa!
I set on fire
all past events
Ill change everything
and I will cry out:
the past is forgotten and everything is starting over
I set on fire
all past events
Ill change everything
and I will cry out:
the past is forgotten and everything is starting over
I burnt the past, my old nights,
and I start from scratch even if you dont want to
Hot tears, too many lies
I paid what I owed and borrowed
Opa!
I set on fire
all past events
Ill change everything
and I will cry out:
the past is forgotten and everything is starting over
Opa!
I set on fire
all past events
Ill change everything
and I will cry out:
the past is forgotten and everything is starting over
I set on fire
all past events
Ill change everything
and I will cry out:
the past is forgotten and everything is starting over
Opa!

what was so fascinating in the lyrics of the turkish song? :)

I can also hear lyra in the greek song :)

I could also listen to piano in another song (I don't remember which), and guitar in some other songs :)

if we want to talk about good music, Serbia has sent this year a song of Goran Bregovic, one of the greatest composers in Balkans

and last year England sent a song of Andrew Lloyd Webber

It's about love :) While Opa doesn't translate or mean anything expect expression like Yeah or something. The song could go even without Opa and it wouldn't use any meaning in it. In fact I would like it better. But things like these in choruses kills the song for me. Even more if it's repeated. Like I said the Usher's Yeah song lol

But Zoi, it's just a matter of taste in music. As we say "You can't fight about the taste" :)

It's not like I am saying all the songs in Eurovision is bad lol But most of them are. I still have few in my comp that I like. I remember there were a song from Bulgaria (I think) "Sanomi", Wings Of Love (Denmark hehe), "Everyway That I Can" (Turkey again)

well, I am not fighting :) I am just saying my opinion :)

my opinion about good music is Michael Jackson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Goran Bregovic, etc

but I don't expect to listen to this in Eurovision, and I don't think I should :)

more than a song contest, Eurovision should be exchange of local styles of music :)

I would like to listen to danish, latvian, irish, french, spanish, russian etc music

something that represents in a way what people really listen to in their countries

this is what I didn't like in the greek songs so many years, but I like now :)

it's not like a quality song, no

but it's very typical of its kind

it's exactly (but exactly) the kind of songs that you would listen to, if you visit a greek nightclub

people will go there, they will hear bouzouki and songs of this kind, they will shout "opa", they will dance, and they will smash plates

it's something real, it's not something constructed in american style, "copying" and "immitating"

in 2005 Greece won the Eurovision contest :) so? :) the song didn't tell me anything about the country and its music...

Not all Eurovision songs are great but some do stand the test of time. I like some of the older entries that Ireland sent because they were good pop songs. I have to admit I do like Whats Another Year by Johnny Logan and Rock & Roll Kids by Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan. Of course it started alot of things like without Eurovision that would be no Riverdance. I do like hearing the music of other countries and I think its nice the way it all blends into one.

Yes, song can be in country style but it has to be quality. Zoi, you said, it's not about the quality, but for me it is. Cause in the end a quality song should win cause it has to be good, not cause of country it represents.

One year we sent a song in Latvian, I don't even remember which one. But it kind a was in Latvian style and I know other ppl laugh about that style, that's why I didn't want it to go to the contest. And I was right, the song was one of the last and we totally blew out. Ppl don't understand some styles so why send something they don't understand? I don't want ppl to laugh about my country, or our traditional dance or costumes like one of persons I know did. It's then better not to show them that if they don't understand (not talking about Eurovision anymore but about some specific thing lol)

well, personally I liked the song of Germany even less than the song of Turkey...

in this Eurovision my favorite song was the danish one, and I was kind of disappointed that it didn't end up in a higher position

I also liked the song of Albania :)

I think that also the song of Romania was nice :)

I am happy with the position of the greek song :) I expected it to be among the 10 first songs, and it is :)

I liked the winner songs of Eurovision 2008 and 2009 :)

but I don't like the winner song of this year... :no

I liked the German song but not the singer she wasn't very pleased that she won. Also does anyone know what she was saying in German? I liked the Belgum song again. BTW I heard that the French song will be used for there world cup tune so I think we will be hearing more of that one.

She wasn't? I think she was shocked and she didn't expect it. But for me it didn't see like he wouldn't be pleased about the winning :)
