Janet Jackson Opens Up About Brother Michael’s Death

In a recent interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show, pop singer Janet Jackson opened up and became candid in regards to her late brother the King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Jackson opened up regarding the events that led to the eventual death of her brother. During her interview, the singer/actress states that the family had been in fear for some time that brother Michael may have had an issue with drug addiction. His family had encouraged him on numerous occasions to seek rehabilitative treatment to overcome his drug problem but the King of Pop refused to acknowledge that he had any drug issues. The starlet also reveals that they had a great fear that Michael would suffer an unfortunate death.

Michael Jackson died on June 25 2009. His death was considered a great loss around the world. Jackson was transported to the hospital after becoming unresponsive at his home. He was pronounced dead later at the hospital.

Michael’s attending physician Dr. Conrad Murray is facing criminal charges in the pop icon’s death after having administered the powerful sedative propofol. The Jackson family personally holds Murray accountable for Michael’s death. Charges against Murray are currently pending in the state of California.

Janet Jackson talks about Michael’s death on ‘Oprah’

Yes, I do,” said Janet Jackson when asked if she blames Dr. Conrad Murray for the death of her brother, Michael Jackson, on Friday’s Oprah.

Jackson discussed how she felt about Dr. Murray, the man who has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in her brother’s death, saying he was the one administering the drug, “from what I do know.”

The Jackson family knew that Michael had a problem before his death. They tried intervening many times, but “Michael was very much in denial,” she said.

“She also said that the King of Pop’s kids are doing “okay” in the aftermath of their iconic dad’s death: “They’re dealing with it. And thank God they have their family,” she said, according to MSN.com.

After Janet’s segment, Tyler Perry joined the two and discussed his new movie, Why Did I Get Married Too?

Tyler said that he had to change the ending of the film because “there was something that happened [in the script] where [Janet] had to speak at a funeral,” he said. Tyler explained that he was protective of Janet during the shooting of the film.

Why Did I Get Married Too? came out Friday, April 2.
