Well to me I don't think it was wrong to rap on this song it gives a freshness to the song.

do you think it needed a freshness? Meaning, do you think We Are The World was old for nowdays? Also do you think that rap in the song makes it modern?

I think such classics as We Are The World, Thriller, Billie Jean, Heal The World, Man In The Mirror and others never get old. This is why Michael was in top during his lifetime cause he was creating music for all years, all decades. It didn't get old. There are groups and singers with one hit, one album... They get old and forgotten cause their music doesn't have that value to through decades. This is why songs like Thriller and Billie Jean is still ppl's favs.

Yes We Are The World is a classic and always will be the new version will never take away from that. We will forget about the new version in years to come. They must have felt that they needed to modernise the song for the young people who were not around when the original one came out. But maybe you don't like rap anyway and that kind of music is not everybodys piece of cake.

Somestimes the rap fits well in the song. But not in We Are The World. Also mostly the way it is done.

I like the rap too. Also the electronic voices made it good.
I didn't like they changed the song. But I also wouldn't like new people to sing the same old song again.
I have to accept their choices and with that in mind I like the result.
And I'm glad they kept Michael in it.
