Jermaine: I was snubbed by fans
Jermaine Jackson has recalled how he was snubbed by Jackson Five fans when he refused to switch record labels with the rest of the band.
In a documentary to be shown in the US on Sunday, Jermaine recalls the dark days of 1976, when the rest of the group leaped to CBS Records while only he stayed behind at Motown Records, being loyal, he says, "to where we started".
He said: "Do you know what it is to be alone? Just to be alone? I'm out in the streets and kids are saying, 'We don't want your autograph, 'cause you're the one that broke the group up.'"
The show - which began filming in January, five months before Michael Jackson's death - also features Jermaine complaining that vocals he'd recorded as part of the group's 40th anniversary reunion were erased by bandmate Jackie.
"You won't believe what happened in the studio today," Jermaine told his wife back at home. "I did these vocals, I was very excited about them, and the next thing I know, they were erased."
