I met my friend today and we had small discussion. She said not all could tell it's Michael Jackson from seeing the pic. She said we know Michael from A to Z so we think everyone know him. She's very much into sport and she said somebody made some tests in Sweden where ppl asked passbyers to recognize some sportsmen. Only 5% could recognize them. So she thinks it would be the same with Michael.

I think it's not the same. Cause sport is something different. Either you are interested or you are not. With music it's different. Cause more or less ppl are interested in music, whenever it's Michael or Spears. But they know who are who, even more if it's Michael as Michael was there through few generations. Cause Michael is not popular only with his music but also with scandals/ rumors. So I think ppl would recognize him.

What do you think if ppl could name Michael from the pic?

Yes. There is a big difference. I even wouldn't be able to recognize the biggest sports stars of Denmark. Maybe from name, but not from a pic.
But everybody knows Michael and everybody have seen pics of him.
With everybody I mean most people who have access to tv, news papers and music.
He has been on frontpages for almost all his life. It would be too weird for people not to see pics of him.
Of course there can always be a certain bad pic, where he can be hard to recognize.

Even though I agree it might be possible that the younger generations only know the "recent" Michael... his last look. So they might not recognise him let's say from a pic from the dirty diana video or so or even older pics (off the wall)?

for me it would be unbelievable too... but we never know. personally i agree with you guys though

Totally agree with statements above. I remember when I was a little child I knew who is Michael Jackson and how he looks like. Because he`s been so great that knowing contemporary music ment knowing Michael Jackson..
