Michael Jackson's Promotional Single for 'This Is It' to Be Released

Michael Jackson's documentary 'This Is It' will be promoted through a fresh song from the late King of Pop which is promised to be brought out sometime soon.

Michael Jackson's brand new single, which has been shelved following his sudden death on June 25, is confirmed to be outed sometime soon. The song which title hasn't been disclosed is aimed to promote his documentary "This Is It".

A record label source told The Sunday Mirror that the track has been remixed with an orchestra accompaniment. "It sounds awesome. The size and scope of the orchestra hasn't been seen since Ray Charles recorded Georgia. Everyone expects a huge hit," so the source revealed.

Coming from Sony Pictures Entertainment, "This Is It" is directed by "High School Musical" helmer Kenny Ortega and will arrive in cinemas across the world on October 28. Most recently, first trailer from the movie was debuted at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13.

UNRELEASED MICHAEL JACKSON SONG "THIS IS IT" TO BE UNVEILED OCTOBER 12TH

SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT TO RELEASE TWO DISC ALBUM WITH MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE SONY PICTURES FILM MICHAEL JACKSON"S THIS IS IT ON OCTOBER 26TH/27TH

On October 12th, the first new Michael Jackson song to emerge since the world mourned the loss of this musical icon will be released – a brand new single entitled "This Is It." Soon after, Sony Music Entertainment's Columbia/Epic Label Group will release the two-disc album This Is It featuring the music that inspired Sony Pictures' forthcoming film MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT. This two-disc album will be available internationally on October 26th and North America on October 27th to coincide with the worldwide release of the motion picture which arrives in theaters on October 28th and runs for a limited two-week engagement.

"This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows - that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts," comments John McClain, co-producer of the album.

Disc one will feature the original album masters of some of Michael's biggest hits arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film. The disc ends with two versions of the never-released "This Is It." This song is featured in the film's closing sequence and includes backing vocals by Michael's brothers, the Jacksons.

Disc two offers previously unreleased versions of some of the artist's classic tracks. This disc also features a touching spoken word poem from Michael Jackson entitled "Planet Earth" that has never been heard before.

The two-disc This is It is a stand-alone companion to the motion picture and includes a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal.

The motion picture MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT will offer Jackson fans and music lovers worldwide a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the performer as he developed, created and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London's O2 Arena. Chronicling the months from April through June, 2009, the film is produced with the full support of the Estate of Michael Jackson and drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show. Audiences will be given a chance to discover the man they never knew through this privileged and private look at Jackson. In raw and candid detail, MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT captures the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius and great artist at work as he creates and perfects his final show.

Kenny Ortega, who was both Michael Jackson's creative partner and the director of the stage show is also directing the film, which is being produced by Randy Phillips, Kenny Ortega and Paul Gongaware. Executive producers are John Branca and John McClain. The film will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Releasing.

Tickets for the limited two-week engagement of the film go on sale beginning September 27. For more information about the motion picture, please visit the website www.thisisit-movie.com.

And I am little bit confused about "" This song is featured in the film's closing sequence and includes backing vocals by Michael's brothers, the Jacksons." part. Were it recorded while Michael was alive or their parts being recorded after? :huh

Quote

Disc two offers previously unreleased versions of some of the artist's classic tracks.
Can classic be unreleased? I mean I think if it gets released then it also can get classing. Song like Thriller, Beat It, heat the World etc are classics.

36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal.
omg more pics :wild and :cryin

And you can buy it in here:

Michael's brothers could have recorded backing vocals for this after he died and then added to the song. Usually for songs every part is recorded separately, like the vocals, music etc. and mixed together.

It says 'unreleased versions' of classic tracks, which are probably versions of the songs we've never heard before, early/unfinished versions that Michael might not have liked as much as the versions that were used in albums. Like the 'early version' of Dangerous from TUC.

I want that 2-disc set, I hope it's sold in shops, and that I get some money before it releases so I can get it as soon as it's in shops.

New Michael Jackson single to hit airwaves October 12

LONDON (Reuters) - A new Michael Jackson single called "This Is It" will hit the airwaves on October 12, two weeks before it is available as part of a two-disc album released by the late pop star's record label.

Sony Music's Columbia/Epic Label Group said it would release the "This Is It" album internationally on October 26 and in North America on October 27, to coincide with the simultaneous global release of the Jackson movie of the same name on October 28.

A spokeswoman in London said that contrary to some reports, the posthumous single would not go on sale separately but would be available for radio stations to play from October 12.

"This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows -- that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts," said John McClain, co-producer of the album and an executor of Jackson's estate. Jackson died of an overdose of prescription drugs on June 25, at around the time he was rehearsing for a 50-date, sellout series of comeback concerts in London.

The "This Is It" movie, subject of a $60 million deal between Jackson's estate and concert promoter AEG Live and Sony Pictures, is based on footage from the final concert rehearsals.

Sales of Jackson's records spiked after his death, and the release of the movie and album will add to the value of the "Thriller" singer's estate, estimated at around $400 million.

Sony Music said the first disc of the two-disc album will feature some of Jackson's greatest hits plus two versions of the new single "This Is It." The song includes backing vocals by Jackson's brothers.

The second disc will include unreleased versions of some of the singer's classic tracks and a spoken word poem entitled "Planet Earth" performed by Jackson and never heard before.

Sony Pictures and Sony Music are units of Sony Corp.
