I don't know how to describe it. It would sound worse than it really is lol It feels like somebody is cuting your skin lol but it's not that bad cause the skin doesn't feel like that as he rubbed some liquid that calms skin a little bit. It feels like somebody is giving you a long shot lol

In both places in England and Latvia they suggested the cream Bepanthen. First they will add something on tattoo when it's finished and you will need to keep it like that for 2 hours. After 2 hours when you're at home you need to sprinkle a little bit warm (not hot) water when you take off that thing from tattoo just enough to get off the cream tattoo artist added on tattoo and to wash off the blood if you have any. With very tender strokes you will need to rub in the cream. Don't overdo the cream cause the skin also would need to breath. Rub the cream in the mornings and evenings while it heals (and after showers whenever you take them). If your tattoo is on the hands in first 3 days you can't wash dishes, clothes, floor or do anything that could get some chemical thing or dirt on the skin. The tattoo will heal 1 or 2 weeks. During that period you can't go to swim in sea, lakes, pools etc... You also can't use public showers. Treat your tattoo as wounded skin cause that's what it is. It's better to not wash it with gels etc in the first days. The water is the best. Be careful to not scratch it. It will be very itchy in first 3-4 days, don't touch it. In any case don't try to peel the scab from tattoo, let it get off by its own. While tattoo heals also don't take sun baths, don't show tattoo to sun. While it heals try keep your clothes off touching your tattoo cause believe it or not but ink sucks into clothes and the tattoo color can become not so smooth after.
Also you would need to take care of tattoo till the rest of your life. When you go to beach or expose tattoo to sun, use sun protection cream on tattoo. Otherway it will fade away sooner and will not look that good. Especially if you have colors in your tattoo.
I hope I didn't forget anything :D Good luck :giddy

I read online about after care and not putting it near water also using particular ointments help it from getting disinfected.
I would say not soak tattoo much in first 3 days. After that shower (at home) is ok but don't scratch it when you wash yourself. You can just let water to flow over it and that's all.
Don't use anything but the cream tattoo artist suggest to you. You never know what ingredients in other creams can be bad for your tattoo. The cream that artists suggest and that I use is more for moistening or getting skin soft around your tattoo. The cream I used is safe cause it's meant for baby skin so it's very soft care for skin. This is also why you need to use it after shower to not get tattoo to get dry. It will heal better this way :)
As for not getting tattoo infected. This is why you need to stay away from public showers, pools, sea etc and not get any chemical things on it.

thank you for the advice on the tattoo i worry that it would get infected. Does the tattoo place sell the cream. Some say vaseline is good to put on in the tattoo in the shower as it shields it.
Don't worry, if the artist is good in what he does and if you take care about tattoo after, it won't get infected ;) I never used any vaseline. I don't think tattoo place will sell any cream. They will just tell what to buy. The cream that was suggested to me by both salons is sold in pharmacy, I think.

I got my tattoo done today and was nervous going in. I was called soon after I got there and I told the tattoo artist what I wanted. It was very sore when he did the outline and the MJ but when he did the colour not so. It took about 40 mins or so and they told me the type of cream I needed and that I shouldn't take the plaster off until 1 hour. I left it a little longer just incase. I washed it and put the cream on then. They charged me 30 euros 10 extra for the initals. So here it is:

Its just above my ankle :) the girl in the tattoo place said that the colours in it will get brighter after it heals. There is some brusing on it at the moment. I didnt bleed too much just a little on the outline of it. This pic will give you an idea on where it is this was taken about 2 hours after I got it done :)

^ your right its not that red although it is a little around the initails MJ and the outer part. But not so much blood. I thought it would have bleed a lot more then it did. My mom said it is lovely and my bf dosent know about it yet :lol. I will keep it as a suprise for him ;). I will post another pic when it heals fully. The pattern is raised on the skin at the moment and its a little sore today but not as much as yesterday. I keep putting the cream on as described and I wash it morning and evening. Although it was a little difficult sleeping with it last night. But otherwise its healing nicely.
