1989 - Police in California were called to a jewelry store after employees reported a suspicious person. The person turned out to be Michael Jackson shopping in disguise.
1992 - Michael Jackson's single "In The Closet" was released.
1993 - A man was arrested for repeatedly attempting to trespass on Michael Jackson's estate in Encino, CA.
2002 - It was reported that Michael Jackson wanted to direct his first movie. The film Jackson wanted was an adaptation of Jennings Michael Burch's book "They Cade the Animals at Night."

1970 - In Philadelphia, PA, The Jackson 5 made their first headlining appearance.
1989 - Michael Jackson signed autographs at a Zales jewelry store in Simi Valley, CA. Police had been called to the store because of a suspicious person with a fake moustache and false teeth.
1992 - Michael Jackson's single "In The Closet" debuted at #8 in the U.K.

1997 - Michael Jackson's single "Blood On The Dance Floor" hit #1 in the U.K.
1997 - Michael Jackson visited Marcel Avram in Munich's Stadelheim prison. Avram was being held on suspicion of tax evasion.

2005 - In Santa Maria, CA, the prosecution rested in the child molestation trial of Michael Jackson. The prosecution's segment took nearly 10 weeks and involved more than 80 witnesses.

1997 - Michael Jackson was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Jackson 5.

1996 - Evan Chandler filed a $60 million breach of contract suit against Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley. The charge was that they had violated a confidentiality clause in the 1994 out-of-court settlement by discussing the case with Diane Sawyer on "PrimeTime Live."

1971 - The Jackson 5 album "Maybe Tomorrow" hit #11 in the U.S.
1990 - To celebrate its 50th anniversary the BMI presented the first Michael Jackson award. Michael Jackson received the first award.
1996 - Michael Jackson performed "Earth Song" at eighth annual World Music Awards. He received trophies for the World's Best-Selling Male Pop Artist, R&B Artist, American Male Recording Artist, Overall Best-Selling Male Recording Artist, and the World's Best-Selling Album Of All-Time (Thriller). ABC-TV aired the show on June 3.

1983 - Michael Jackson's single "Beat It" was certified Gold by the RIAA.
2003 - Michael Jackson filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group. The suit claimed that the company owed him royalties for the re-release of songs Jackson had made in the 1970s.

1997 - Michael Jackson released "Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix." The album contains eight remixes from "HIStory: Past, Present and Future Book 1" and five new songs.
2005 - Macaulay Culkin testified in the Michael Jackson child molestation trial. He stated that he had never been molested by Jackson.

1998 - It was reported that Michael Jackson and Don Barden looking for possible locations for a casino hotel with an amusement park.
1999 - In Rome, a judge ruled that Michael Jackson had plagarized an Italian songwriter when he wrote his song "Will You Be There." The judge suspended the four million lire fine, but ordered Jackson to pay court costs.

1974 - A Jackson 5 concert ended in violence when fans began throwing bottles outside the venue. Fifty people were hurt and 43 were arrested.
1991 - "Michael Jackson: The Magic & the Madness" went on sale.
2004 - Michael Jackson's lawyers issued a document that claimed that prosecutors in Jackson's case had been withholding witnesses and more that 300 items seized in November 2003 raids on Jackson's Los Olivos, CA, home and other locations. The motion requested that the prosecution turn the items over under basic discovery obligations.
2005 - Mark Geragos, a former attorney of Michael Jackson, testified at Jackson's child molestation trial.

1997 - Michael Jackson's video "HIStory On Film Volume 2" was released.
2003 - Michael Jackson arrived in Indianapolis for a deposition planned for the next day. The lawsuit alleged that the Jackson Five had violated copyrights and infringed on the trade name Ripples & Waves in 1967.
