Wanted to draw Michael from earlier years since I haven't done it much. Something from Thriller era :)
Things I used was: mechanical pencils 2B. Common pencils H, HB, 2B, 3B, 9B. Kneaded eraser and pencil eraser.

One of the latest Michael's photoshoots for Ebony magazine in 2007.
Started this work a year ago when the electricity at my house was out for few hours. I was bored, I took the magazine and started to draw. I stopped at the tie cause I didn't know how to make it to look good and I think I wasn't ready to finish it. Now few days ago I sat down and continued what I started.

Not my eyes, nose and lips (they are taken from the pic of Michael). The rest it done by me.
About the idea. I am taking courses right now and typographic was one of our home works and I decided to make one about Michael ;) The idea comes from after teacher showed us some examples.
The work is made from all of his solo songs from solo albums. I am sure there's all of his albums (minus J5 and TJ) and all duets and rare songs and demos I could think of. Totally 170 songs. Plus Lyrics from For All Time (which is the song from my top 3 fav songs) and Wings Of My Love songs (which after Michael's passing turned into completely new meaning to me). The only text that is not related with song titles or lyrics is a text Legend. These songs made him a legend, which is why I left it there as a title of the work.

I meant to finish it for 25th June 2010 but for some personal reasons I didn't make it and finished it just yesterday. The meaning of this artwork was some kind of connection to the world where Michael is now and the world where we are living. We have sent so many sunflowers to Michael to show love. So I was meaning to make something that would say as Michael speaking "I got them. Thank you very much!". I wanted to get some other feeling into this but it turn out to be more sad than I was expecting it to be. I probably had to choose some happier pic of him that would show that Michael is happy in his world now but I guess I didn't think about how this would look in the end. I think when I was thinking about which pic to choose, I choose this one cause it was connected with his funeral so it more shows my inside feeling than something I wanted to get. But you know, art we do always comes from our inside world...

I always wanted to make a close up pic of Michael, especially cause of his eyes. This one was the first that came into my mind taken from Moonwalk autobiography.

I am playing around with my watercolor pencils. I have to say I am not pro at watercolor and I am still practicing and the reason I choose this pic to paint is cause I still don't dare to paint the face lol
Painted with watercolor pencils and felt tip pen is used a little bit to stand out some details.

Friends together again! RIP Michael! RIP Elizabeth!
I started it a while ago but never had a time to finish it. Then the last week I spent on the country side in peace and I was finally able to finish it. I finished it on the day that marks 14 years since I've seen Michael in concert (22nd August 1997).
p.s. Elizabeth's dress wasn't that difficult to draw as I expected it to be. I used mostly electric eraser on it. I highly recommend to get it if you need to quickly erase some dots or lines ;)
