One Million People Register For Michael Jackson's London Gigs, Singer To Announce 10 More Dates
London, England (CNS) - Around one million people have already registered for tickets for Michael Jackson's "last ever" concerts in London later this year. Around 350,000 people registered just two days after Jackson announced the concert series in the British capital, promoters AEG Live said.
Fans who successfully complete the registration process will be sent an email on Tuesday with a code allowing them to log on to a website to buy tickets. The website launched for people to register for pre-sale tickets is receiving 14,000 hits per minute, Contactmusic reports.
There is speculation in the media that the King of Pop will put on more shows despite proclaiming the O2 gigs would be his last. According to the Daily Mirror the singer is set to announce a further ten dates at the venue "imminently."
Tickets for the O2 Arena dates, set to begin on July 8, are set to go on sale at 7am (GMT) on March 13. Called "This Is It," the shows will mark Jackson's first live performance for more than two years.
Last week, the 50-year-old singer made an appearance before a crowd of around 20,000 people at the O2 Arena in southeast London to announce he would give 10 concerts there from July 8.
