My advice would be to think what you are good with. I am not good at math and talking with ppl so I definitely would not want to work as selling on cash register. But I am good at drawing and graphics (at least I hope so lol) so I would go with graphic degister or similar work. I am mostly doing pencil portraits at the moment although I very much enjoy drawing ppl I like or am interested in. I find it boring to draw ppl I don't know but I enjoy drawing anyway more that I would enjoy standing in front of cash register. So I can go with it.
Very less ppl enjoy their work as much as they enjoy their hobbies. They just do what they think they are good with. And when they work with their hobbies they get balance between their work and hobbies. You don't have any other choice if you want to get money, isn't it?
So my advice is to think what you are good at, what wouldn't make your work miserable too much and then start thinking from there
Of course it's better to not work at all, that is what most ppl want lol but most of the things you enjoy comes with price (including being MJ fan if you want to extend your collection etc). So in order to enjoy our hobbies, we need to work

I didn't know you like to write. Have you written anything at all so far?
Getting published is really not easy and I think you also need to have money for that. And a super great story to get sponsors maybe. So you need to know ppl. I really have no idea how it works actually. Usually ppl go study literature if they want to write stories.
Maybe if you like writing you could work in some paper or magazine. Then you would need to study journalism. And write about themes you like. You like animals, so maybe you could apply for some pet magazine. If you like fashion, then write about fashion. Just write about things you like and know. Then it will be easy

it's better to study, and practice at work, something that you like
don't listen to people who say that there's jobs you can't do
nowadays there are women in all fields of work
if you work with something you like, you can also become very very good at it

I disagree, you don't need to have money, in order to get published
when you have finished writing a story, which you feel is ready and appropriate for publishing, you can just contact to as many publishing companies as possible, to try to find a publisher
I have a client (I translate texts for her), who is writing fairy-tales
she says it might be a little difficult to write and publish novels, philosophy, history, etc
but it's not so difficult to write and publish fairy-tales or books for children
since you like design, and you also like writing, maybe you could work with writing fairy-tales, or even cartoons
would you like that?
there are distance and online courses in the techniques of cartoons (and also in many other disciplines)

Phantom, thanks for your advice. The book I want to write is for younger people, I just have to write it. Also, I might wait and see when I go to Manchester next month and see if my family there will help me find a course, even a distance course. I haven't found many distance courses here.

Maybe go to some open days in the colleges that are near you. They will have info on the courses that they offer. Distance courses are expensive I did one in accounting and it was difficult to do I gave up after one semester.
You also get a student grant if you are studing a full time course and as a mature student you jsut need to do an interview to go on a course.
To apply for college or university you need to have your application in by next February.

no, as far as I know, the publisher is paying the editor and everything
and the publisher also gets the most profit, and gives to the writer a smaller amount
I don't know much, I only know what I have discussed with my client, I don't have a personal experience

I did look at going back as a mature student, but to be honest, there's no courses here that I want to do. And I don't think I'd even get an interview because I have no qualifications, experience or anything they require. I can't really afford college anyway, the best I can do is a night or weekend course somewhere. The only problem I have is that there aren't many qualifications you can get from these courses, unless it's something like business, engineering etc. I don't have many choices here, so I either have to go somewhere for a course or do a distance learning one. Thanks for the advice

but yesterday I was feeling bad, almost all day
I had a headache, which wouldn't go away, even after I got pain killers
I was feeling sick, I had pain on half my body and half my head, and I also threw up few times
and I was feeling dizzy...
I think it was because of the air conditioning
so I didn't use air condition last night
since this morning I am feeling fine though

oh no that sounds awful. I used to get unwell from the air conditioning at work. Because I worked in a small office we couldnt open the windows and the old air was circulating all the time. Even my skin dried up with it.

my stomach hurts, I throw up, I can't eat, and I feel sick
I am sure that it's stress, because I've had it again
it just had stopped for few months, so I thought it had gone away for good, but no, it hasn't

The weather depresses me, it is changing so quickly..
This morning, it was sunny and hot, there was no cloud in the sky.. and when we finally wanted to eat outside, it began to rain --" . And the whole afternoon long, it rained :'( . We haven't even been able to go out and visit the cities around our house.
Alsace is such a beautiful region, but... when it rains, it's not a little shower. --"
However, I may not care. I am a little lucky, the house I rented is really awesome. =)
There's a jacuzzi in the middle of the dining room, and it's quite huge.
(even though it's kinda... noisy --" )
